UDPRN – Unique Delivery Point Reference Number
A UDPRN is Royal Mail’s Unique Delivery Point Reference Number. It is an eight-digit identifier used for a delivery point in Royal Mail’s Postcode Address File (PAF).
A delivery point is about postal delivery rather than land ownership or planning. That is why a UDPRN is not the same thing as a UPRN, which identifies an addressable location and is widely used to link property and public-sector data.

UDPRN and UPRN are different identifiers
Ordnance Survey address data can contain both identifiers. Its current technical specification describes the UDPRN as Royal Mail’s eight-digit identifier for a delivery point, while the UPRN is the property or addressable-location identifier maintained through local authority and Ordnance Survey addressing data.
The two can often be matched, but they do different jobs. A single building or site can have addressing circumstances that make the relationship more complicated than simply treating one number as a replacement for the other.
How do I find a UDPRN?
Unlike a UPRN, there is not a general public GeoPlace lookup service designed around UDPRNs. The UDPRN is a Royal Mail PAF identifier and is available through address datasets and services that include the relevant Royal Mail fields. Ordnance Survey’s AddressBase products also include UDPRN data sourced from Royal Mail where applicable.
If what you actually need is the public-sector property identifier used for planning, land and address datasets, you probably want the UPRN instead. GeoPlace’s FindMyAddress service is for UPRNs, not UDPRNs.
