Class A

This is a very simple, but valuable class within the GPDO.

It allows for the repairs to services including inspeacting, repairing or renewing any sewer, main, pipe, cable or other apparatus by private landowners.  Under Section 55(2)(c) of the 1990 Town and Country Planning Act, these types of work do not constitute development when carried out by local authorities and statutory undertakers, therefore this permitted development right benefits everyone else.

This includes the ability to open up the land to undertake this work.

There are no restrictions as to where this can be carried out bar the permission of the owner of the land.

The Legislation is below, but there isn’t a lot to it! You have been warned!
