Paragraph U: Part 19 interpretation
Paragraph U defines the terms “airbase” and “air traffic services” used by Part 19. It does not itself grant development rights.
This is an England permitted development right in Part 19 of Schedule 2 to the GPDO. The relevant conditions and restrictions must be checked against the proposal.

How Paragraph U works
An airbase is tied to a Government aerodrome as defined in paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Air Navigation Order 2016. Air traffic services has the meaning in section 98 of the Transport Act 2000. Read the definitions alongside the Class relied upon.

Paragraph U – Interpretation of Part 19
U. For the purposes of Part 19—
“airbase” means the aggregate of the land, buildings and works comprised in a Government aerodrome within the meaning of paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Air Navigation Order 2016; and
“air traffic services” has the same meaning as in section 98 of the Transport Act 2000 (air traffic services).
